Biography
Joel Hernandez
1984 | Nuevo Laredo, Mexico
Joel Hernandez is a multidisciplinary artist based in San Francisco whose practice investigates the intersections of queer identity, ancestral heritage and the collective solitude of urban life. Through paper-mache, Hernandez reclaims ancestral pageantry to navigate the modern complexities of the human experience; interrogating the dualities of happiness and sadness within the dense rhythms of the city.
